Benefits of embroidery for custom clothing

LaserPoint Awards & Promotional Solutions has been embroidering products for business clients in Bellingham and throughout Whatcom County for many years, and in that time we’ve noticed a number of reasons that customers keep returning to embroidery for customizing clothing. Work uniforms, team sports gear, commemorative jackets, ballcaps, polo shirts — all lend themselves well to embroidering that looks great and lasts for years.

Here are five of the top reasons our Bellingham and Whatcom County customers appreciate embroidered clothing:

Durability. Well-done embroidery lasts quite a long time, without the eventual peeling often association with other methods of customization. In many cases, the piece of clothing will wear out before the embroidery does!

Classic appearance. Think of Lacoste polo shirts and the classic embroidered crocodile logo. A small touch of embroidery applied in just the right way can lend a classic and high-quality air to any piece of clothing. Consider how classy your employees will look in company-branded shirts, jackets and more, whether behind the counter, on the job-site or in your latest promo video.

Professional look. Good embroidery can’t just be churned out on any corner, and it’s hard to reproduce at home. A well-embroidered shirt carries with it an air of professionalism. And if we’re talking work uniforms, know that they can enhance customers’ impressions of the business and even make them more likely to do business with you.

Ease of use. When washing embroidered items, there’s no need to adjust care. Just follow the instructions on the clothing label and wash as usual. The embroidery acts like it’s part of the garment. One thing to note, though, is that it’s worth washing on cold if you’re worried about the thread ink bleeding to the surrounding fabric.

Variety. Unlike with screen-printing, for example, embroidery can be applied to a wide range of materials. The same business logo could be applied to T-shirts, Oxford shirts, sweatshirts, pants, coveralls, jackets and more; business owners could create an entire line of branded work gear, for example, if they desired. And as far as the embroidery itself, you have a massive variety of thread colors available — and can even get thread that’s shiny or metallic.

If you’re considering an embroidery project for your place of business or just for personal items, take a look at our available apparel and send us a copy of the artwork you’re considering so that LaserPoint can provide a cost estimate.
